Why Study Physics or Astronomy?
A degree in physics or astronomy opens many doors of opportunity to
a variety of exciting and rewarding areas.
The study of physics and astronomy both develop important skills. These inlude: using sophisticated
mathematical reasoning to analyze physical systems, identifying and solving important problems through
structured experiences, and using many
different laboratory instruments. Our programs also heavily use computers during many lab and lecture courses. This expertise is highly transferable, regardless of what field you enter after graduation. Many of our graduates have found good jobs in such areas as physics, engineering, scientific programming, writing, teaching, patent law, medicine, sales, and banking.
