Graduate Overview
The Department of Physics and Astronomy at George Mason University
offers graduate programs at the master and Ph.D. levels.
The Physics B.S. / Accelerated M.S. Program
allows highly qualified and motivated undergraduates to earn both B.S.
and M.S. degrees in five years. The
Applied and Engineering Physics M.S. Program
offers a terminal M.S. in applying physics techniques and
knowledge to technical problems in the workplace, or, with the
Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, with an emphasis
in electrical engineering.
The Computational Sciences and
Informatics Ph.D. Program, administered by the Department of Computational
and Data Sciences, applies computational methods to scientific problems.
The
Physical Sciences Ph.D. Program
permits study in astronomy, biochemistry, biophysics, chemistry, or physics,
or some combination of these. A proposal for a Physics Ph.D. is under
evaluation, and a Proposed Physics Ph.D. FAQ is
available.
