Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Condensed Matter Theory

The George Mason University, Center for Quantum Science (CQS) seeks a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to pursue theoretical research on strongly correlated electron systems.

The main research subject will be the magnetism and superconductivity of iron-pnictides and other related materials. Preference will be given to candidates with training in many-body theory and experience with numerical calculations.

The CQS is affiliated with the Department of Physics and Astronomy and the Department of Computational and Data Sciences at Mason. The university has a 500-node supercomputer available to the members of CQS. This position will offer opportunities for building collaborations with quantum science institutes at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, the Naval Research Laboratory and John Hopkins University.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in condensed matter theory or a closely related area, demonstrated record of original research, and a proven ability to communicate complex scientific results via peer-reviewed journal articles and conference presentations. This position is for one year and renewable for a second year.
