Title

The Standard Model of Particle Physics

Abstract

To understand nature, her basic constituents, and the rules that govern their interactions must be discovered. Quarks and leptons have been identified as candidate fundamental elements, and the strong and electroweak forces have been shown to dictate their behavior. The contingently accepted description of these particles and interactions is known as the Standard Model of Particle Physics. Clarification and testing of the Standard Model remains an active area of physics.
