Research:Shobita Satyapal

Shobita Satyapal is an astrophysicist working in the field of observational extragalactic astronomy. Her principal research interests include the nature of active galactic nuclei, starburst galaxies, and the connection between supermassive black holes and the host galaxies in which they reside. This research utilizes imaging and spectroscopic data from mostly space-based observatories including Spitzer, Chandra, and HST. Dr. Satyapal's research has supported one postdoctoral associate, graduate students, and many undergraduates. Funds are available to support highly motivated students interested in observational astrophysics.
