Below is a short description of their research.
Haren Puviharan, Computational & Data Sciences
Puviharan will receive a $1,000 OSCAR grant to launch a research project with Dr. J. Cebral in Fall 2012. The project is titled “Brain Vascular Diseases Using Blood Flow Patterns in Ultrasound Scans” and is focused on medical informatics.
Hyun Soo Choi, Computational & Data Sciences
Soo will receive a $1,000 OSCAR grant to launch a research project with Dr. Joe Marr in Fall 2012. The project is titled “IMPLICATION — Implied Causation” and is focused on medical informatics.
Joe Renaud, Physics
Renaud will receive a $1,000 OSCAR grant to launch a research project titled “Mathematical Modeling of Coupled Fluid Structure Interactive in Cerebral Saccular Aneurysm by Finite Elements” with Dr. Padmanabhan Seshaiyer.
John Oldaker, Physics
John Oldaker Jr. received a $1000 OSCAR grant for a research project titled “Orientation and Arrangement of Nanoparticles in Magnetic Tapes” in Summer 2012 with Dr. Krishnamurthy Vemuru.
Dr. Vemuru is also mentoring biology student Roxana Abdollahzadeh. Roxana received a $1000 OSCAR grant for working on a research project titled “Magnetism and Superconductivity in Iron Based Superconductors” in Fall 2012.
